The General Hospital recap for Friday, November 17, 2023, features a brutal attack that left Austin bleeding out and fighting for his life.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Carly came to a sad conclusion, Laura made Jordan an offer she didn’t refuse, and Trina struggled with her future. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
Too Little Too Late
Austin (Roger Howarth) decided to do the right thing and turned up at the station, ready for a deal. He told Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) he would confess everything AND hand over the big boss…but only if his demands were met. He wanted immunity and the promise he wouldn’t have to testify. He was risking his life, after all.
Dante was understandably reluctant to give that much. He offered the possibility of leniency but not much more. However, the more he listened to Austin’s pleas, the more he softened up. He eventually agreed to do what he could.

Unfortunately, Austin’s worries for his own personal safety proved to be well-founded. He went home to consider his options, but when he walked through the door, he realized he wasn’t alone. “What are you doing here,” is all he got out before several gunshots were fired.
Later, Robert (Tristan Rogers) got to the station after chatting with Felicia (Kristina Wagner) about Anna. He was surprised to hear how willing Austin was to give up the goods and told Dante to cut the deal. Little did they know Austin was lying in a pool of blood and left for dead on his living room floor.
Deals And No Deals
Meanwhile, Laura (Genie Francis) had a pleasant meeting with Jordan (Tanisha Harper) to discuss the latter’s role as deputy mayor. She offered Jordan the job on a more permanent basis. Jordan was flattered but said she had to think about it.
The meeting was interrupted by Cyrus (Jeff Kober), who came bearing good news. He’s gotten himself a job. Sure, it’s just washing dishes, but hey, it’s honest work, right? It’s a good start to a new life.
Unfortunately, his act began working on Laura. Thankfully, once alone, Jordan set her straight. Cyrus was a dangerous man who did terrible things. Once a con, always a con. Even more fortunately, the interaction gave Jordan clarity, and she accepted Laura’s offer.
Turning down an offer was Carly (Laura Wright). After a long, hard talk with Michael (Chad Duell) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), she came to the conclusion she didn’t have the funding. And no, she would not take a loan from Michael, no matter how many times he offered. If she was to get her precious business back, she wanted to do it all on her own.
Over at The Metro Court, Sonny (Maurice Benard) questioned Nina (Cynthia Watros) about her offer to Carly. Nina told Sonny it was nothing more than a goodwill gesture. She and Carly may never be friends or get along, but at least this was a step in the right direction. Sonny brought the story hook, line, and sinker…eventually.

Is Love Enough?
Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) showed up to the dorm to try and catch a glimpse of Trina (Tabyana Ali) but got a stern talking to by Joss (Eden McCoy) instead. She laid it all out for him. Trina was an 11/10 upset. Flowers wouldn’t fix it, and Spencer needed to get it together. What does he want out of life? Does he want Trina or a life with Esme and Ace?
At the same time, Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Marshall (Robert Gossett) expressed similar sentiments. Curtis played Devil’s Advocate when it came to Spencer and Ace. Was it not understandable Spencer would want to step up? Trina needed to decide what she wanted and what she was willing to concede. Can she be with Spencer if he continued being this close to his ex?
