In real life and on soaps, there’s more to being a parent than simple biology. So while paternity tests proved that General Hospital‘s Curtis is Trina’s father, it’s also a fact that she and Taggert spent years believing that he her parent. So it’s not surprising that more than a few fans have been wondering why Taggert isn’t on the canvas to help Trina deal with the supposed loss of her beloved Spencer.
Well, it’s certainly not because portrayer Réal Andrews is uninterested or unavailable. In an Instagram post, the actor — who has played Taggert on and off since 1996 — spoke directly to fans who’ve been asking about his absence.
“I appreciate your support,” he said before adding it was “up to you guys and God.” Being well aware of just how important a role fans play when it comes to soaps, he encouraged them to reach out and make their desire to see him back known. “You guys have a very loud voice,” he pointed out. “Especially in today’s day and age.”

Certainly he’s ready, willing and able to return… in fact, one might say he’s raring to go! “If it’s meant to be, I’ll be back,” he enthused. “And if I’m back, I’ll bring it! You know that’s what I do!”
Fans have been practically begging the show to bring Taggert back for quite some time, but those requests have been nearly deafening on social media ever since Spencer’s death left Trina feeling a deep ache within her heart.
Taggert, too, has been finding things difficult since discovering that he was not the young woman’s biological father. In fact, the last time we saw Marcus, he was doing a bit of daydrinking by spiking his coffee with a little bit of booze.
“I want to see the struggle Taggert has gone through (since) losing the biological tie to his baby girl,” said @Mngh116 on Twitter. “The drinking, the pain. Only to find out Selena switched the [paternity test] results!”
That’s a very popular opinion among viewers who suspect that Selina may have tampered with the results as part of a bigger plan to control Curtis. After all, she could easily threaten to reveal the truth — that Taggert won the daddy lottery — unless Curtis continued to do her bidding. Would the good guy stay quiet or make the painful decision to tell Taggert and Trina the truth?
