General Hospital Recap: September 13 – Judge Frees Sonny Over False Evidence – Esme Seeks New Home

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, September 11, reveals that

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) resumed work at The Savoy and got a warm

welcome back from the staff, but he seemed to feel out of place now that he was in a wheelchair.

Once Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) arrived and joined Curtis, Molly Lansing-Davis (Brooke Anne Smith) and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) delivered a big announcement about the surrogate’s procedure and how they’d know if she was pregnant in a few days.

After Curtis congratulated the hopeful parents-to-be, he wound up escaping from the busy happy hour.

N’neka (Ariondriah Lenyea) was surprised to find Curtis somewhere in the back, so he admitted he was contemplating if he still fit in at the club.

Meanwhile, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) came home with some fancy food, so Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) assumed it was for the two of them and sat down to eat with him.

Once Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) showed up for her dinner with Spencer, Esme realized she was wrong and vowed to get out of their hair.

Spencer suggested there was enough food for all three of them to eat, but Esme insisted on leaving with Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay).

After Esme was gone, Trina admitted she was upset over Spencer not correcting Esme’s wrong assumption earlier.

Although Trina thought the lines were blurring when it came to what Esme and Spencer were to each other, Spencer made it clear he only had feelings for Trina.

Once Spencer said he could prove it, he presented Trina with the mini turtledoves that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) gave him in Pentonville.

Spencer explained that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) held onto them for him, but then he suddenly worried Trina didn’t want a gift that involved Cyrus and Victor.

Trina assured Spencer that she did and told him to keep one of the turtledoves for himself. It would be a reminder that they were a matched pair and belonged together.

At Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) new house, she gave Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) updates on Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliot) lawsuit and her fears about her finances.

When Jackson Montgomery’s (Walt Willey) name came up, Mac Scorpio (John J. York) mentioned that Jackson could’ve had Felicia thrown behind bars.

Felicia recapped the drama of her caper with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) while Mac took James West (Gary James Fuller) and Georgie Spinelli (Eden Harker) out to grab supplies for a barbeque.

After Mac had some sweet bonding time with the kids, they returned home for their family gathering.

Over the phone, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) vowed to keep Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) posted on what was happening at Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) arraignment.

Michael also spoke with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) briefly outside the courtroom, so Dex admitted he just didn’t think the feds could’ve gotten info off that pulverized flash drive. However, Michael didn’t seem to think there was any other explanation.

In addition to Michael and Dex, Sonny also had Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) there to support him.

Once Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) joined Sonny and court was in session, there was a motion on the other side to withdraw the charges without prejudice.

The judge wasn’t happy about there not being enough evidence against Sonny after all, but he had no choice but to dismiss the charges and let Sonny walk free – though the charges could be refiled anytime.

It was revealed that a previously reliable source gave false info to the feds, so Sonny was able to get off the hook.

Sonny’s loved ones were confused yet pleased over the shocking turn of events. Diane couldn’t help but notice that Sonny didn’t seem surprised by how all this went down.

In a moment alone with Sonny, Dex told him how he avoided arrest because of Carly’s phone call.

Sonny also admitted to Dex that when the Pikeman crates were opened, only the coffee beans were found.

Afterward, Sonny joined Nina and assured her that everything was taken care of as they left together.

Dex still seemed rather puzzled over the courtroom shocker and the fact that Sonny was now free.

Next, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) didn’t want to eat at Kelly’s with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), Jake Webber (Hudson West) and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) since they had a softball team that would go up against GH.

Carly assured Violet that there’d be no sabotage, but Violet still seemed suspicious. Jake also appeared distracted as Violet tried to quiz him about his knowledge of their softball enemies.

When Liz questioned why Carly wasn’t at Sonny’s arraignment, Carly didn’t think it was her pace anymore.

Once Esme showed up with Ace, Elizabeth commented on how much he’d grown and had a civil conversation with his mom.

After Jake suggested he’d catch up with Liz, Finn and Violet later, they headed off without him.

That gave Jake a chance to meet up with Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) for a date, so they shared a milkshake and talked about the horse painting he was making for her.

Once Michael called Carly to give her the good news about Sonny walking free, Esme mentioned the rooms upstairs and asked Carly if there were any vacancies.

General Hospital spoilers say Esme will inevitably stir up more trouble for Spencer and Trina, so stay tuned.
