General Hospital News – Billy Miller Struggled With ‘Manic Depression’
Famed first for his role on All My Children in 2007, Billy Miller then starred in The Young And The Restless as Billy Abbott. And the actor received three Daytime Emmy Awards for portraying Billy Abbott. But Miller struggled behind the scenes, revealed his manager via People.
And the actor, who also starred on General Hospital, died at age 43 “struggling with manic depression,” stated his manager. Billy starred in The Young and the Restless from 2008 to 2014. And he received Daytime Emmy Awards for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series in 2010 and 2013 and outstanding lead actor in a drama series in 2014.
But Miller subsequently headed to General Hospital as Jake Doe. The actor then replaced Steve Burton in the role of Jason Morgan from 2016 to 2017. And when Burton returned to the show, Billy took on the role of his twin, Drew Cain, prior to leaving General Hospital in 2019.

In addition to his soap opera career, Miller contributed to Suits and AppleTV+’s Truth Be Told. And many of Billy’s former colleagues turned to social media to mourn the loss and pay tribute to him.
For instance, General Hospital star Risa Dorken (Amy Driscoll) described herself as “heartbroken.” And she added, “My heart goes out to him, and everyone who loves him- he is loved by so many. Warm, kind, incredibly talented.. a big hug to the daytime family. Rest in peace & happy heavenly birthday Billy.”
And The Young and the Restless star Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) posted a photo with Billy from the 2014 Emmy Awards when they both received awards. Turning to social media, she shared her sorrow to learn about Miller’s death.
“I’m so sad to hear of Billy Miller’s passing,” Eileen noted. “His infectious charm and warmth left lasting impressions on all of us who were lucky enough to have him in our lives. I’m gonna miss that mischievous smile. Love you Billy.”
General Hospital News – Exec Producer Feels ‘Devastated’
And Jason Thompson, who starred in General Hospital with Miller and later took over the actor’s former role of Billy Abbott in The Young and the Restless, felt “saddened to hear” about the death of his “friend.” Thompson shared that Miller “was funny, had a great laugh and very talented.” And he added, “Love and light to his family and friends.”
But General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini also wrote about the tragic loss on social media. And he shared that he felt “devastated to hear news of the incredibly talented Billy Miller’s passing. On behalf of the entire @GeneralHospital family, our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.”
